The personal portrait, the family portrait, it's a story in pictures and the story is about you, your family, your lives. The story here and now. As we move through life our story changes, memories of moments sometimes fade; family and friends, keepsakes and pictures, these keep the memories alive. Today of course it seems everyone is taking pictures all the time, pictures of this, pictures of that, don't we have enough pictures to make the memories last?

Perhaps its not about the sheer number of pictures we all have. When was the last time you took the extra time and effort to photograph that special moment, a landmark birthday for you or your children; an anniversary, the extended family all together - all too briefly before a wedding or baptism; it's time to make time for a special picture a keepsake picture of that unique and significant moment, that special time. Family pictures are part of our story and they are part of our family history.

I have had the privilege of making portrait photographs of very many people over many many years. It is always something very special to me to be allowed to photograph a person, a family; sisters, brothers, grandparents and uncles and aunts, to be in some way a part of that family, not just for the duration of the photo session but in the capturing of the energy and that moment forever. That photographer who cherishes and has been influenced by his own his families portraits and pictures is me, Kent Johnson; and when you book your portrait, I will be the photographer continuing the history of your families portrait in that grand portraiture tradition.
